Made City Hall Door
Baltimore News Post Evening
June 12 1936

Well, here's one answer is the query about City Hall Doors. F Elbert of Baltimore County says the doors were designed and carved by the late Joseph Martin Sudsburg who was the foremost wood carver of Baltimore in his days.

Mr Elbert also says the doors are mahogany and the wood are purchased ffrom Brenwood's in Gay Street near Fayette Street.

Mr Elbert is a cabinet maker and at one time was employed by the famous Robert Renwick, perhaps the best cabinetmaker Baltimore ever had. Mr Renwick did the cabinet work for the City Hall. When it was new Mr Renwick created many beautiful pieces of furniture which are preserved in old Baltimore homes.
